CW’s ‘The Flash,’ Starring Grant Gustin, Premieres In October! Will Lead-In To ‘Supernatural’ Boost Ratings?

The CW Network has announced the premiere dates for its upcoming fall season. DC Comics fans can now begin the countdown to the official air date of The Flash, starring Grant Gustin as its title superhero.

Mark the date because Tuesday, October 7 has been stamped for the running speedster's TV series. The CW is betting big that this superhero TV, which ran before in the '90s, will connect with modern audiences.

For those who have missed the origin story, Arrow will repeat the two-part episodes, The Scientist and Three Ghosts, on Oct. 1. Viewers will be introduced to Barry Allen (Gustin) and watch how he becomes integral to the green archer's mythology.

As reported here, The Man under the Hood is also the introductory episode of Caitlin Stone (Danielle Panabaker) and Carlos Vadles (Cisco Ramon). They are the two S.T.A. R. Labs members who will be integral to Barry's understanding of his super-speed powers.

What's interesting about Tuesday nights is The Flash will be paired up with Supernatural. Now entering its tenth season, the Winchester Brothers have been riding high on their ratings boost from last year. The CW executives have placed a new genre show to lead in their long-standing horror series.

This could probably work for both shows in the long run. Because both are genre shows, they will attract their own demographic audience. The CW may have 2 hours of great television on its hands.
