Get ready for some more Selena Gomez.
The Disney Darling is gearing up to release her highly anticipated follow up to her 2013 album Stars Dance. However, its not exactly what fans were hoping for. Gomez's new record will be of the greatest hits varieties. Now before you get all bent out of shape and ask, 'What hits?' know that Selena actually has achieved seven platinum hits over the span of her short career, a pretty good accomplishment.
Her resume includes:
"Love You Like a Love Song" sold 2,502,000
"Come & Get It" sold 2,300,000+
"Who Says" sold 1,964,000
"Naturally" which sold 1,960,000
"Slow Down" sold 1,000,000+
"Tell Me Something I Don't Know" sold 1,000,000+
"A Year Without Rain" sold 1,000,000+
"Round & Round" sold 917,000
"Falling Down" sold 566,000
"Magic" sold 541,000
"Hit the Lights" sold 500,000
While most of these might have been achieved during her Disney days, she is looking to put that era far in the rear, and is giving fans one last glimpse with this greatest hits album. Sugarspace.com is speculation that this album will "put and end to the Disney-Selly we've come to know and love, as she moves into more adult-oriented fare."
Selena is parting ways with Hollywood Records and has also just hired a new manager, so it looks like the greatest hits will bookend her new transformation perfectly.
The record will be sure to include the eleven songs listed above but Gomez promises that fans will also hear some new material as well. Look for the album when it hits store later this year.
