Jenna Coleman returns as Clara Oswald and Peter Capaldi debuts as the Twelfth Doctor on the season eight premiere of Doctor Who on August 23, 2014. Capaldi's first episode is entitled "Deep Breath" and thanks to an intense new teaser trailer for the show's triumphant return, we're all holding ours until it airs on BBC! Did we mention that this new episode will be feature-length?

Our first taste of season 8 is definitely a serious one.

"Clara be my pal - tell me, am I a good man?" Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor asks his companion that is certainly dealing with a lot after his regeneration.

"I don't think I know who the Doctor is anymore," Clara says.

Clearly the first obstacle that the Doctor will have to face is winning over the trust of Clara, who is still hung up on Eleven's departure (as are most of us!). He's done it before, but Clara is, after all, the Impossible Girl, so we don't know how she'll handle the new Doctor!

Being asked to play The Doctor is an amazing privilege," Capaldi said a year come this premiere, shortly after he was announced as the new Doctor. "Like The Doctor himself, I find myself in a state of utter terror and delight. It's so wonderful not to keep this secret any longer, but it's been so fantastic."
