Curtis Woodhouse achieved his dream of becoming an English Premier League footballer, but he traded it all in for a chance of having a boxing career. He shocked the world by becoming British light-welterweight champion, but decided not to retire and to put his belt up against Willie Limond, the Commonwealth champion. Sadly, Woodhouse wasn't able to take the belts home as he lost on points.

However, what Woodhouse walked away with was a lot heavier and more important than two belts could be. The pride he gained from achieving two sporting goals, proving that the blood, sweat abd tears he put in to his careers were worth it. Now the family man may wonder how far he could've gone with one, but he will walk away knowing he's graced the two sports that held his heart since his childhood days. Nobody can take that away from him

Some laughed, but in early 2014 the star declared his last fight "do or die" as he fought to become the British light-welterweight champion, and he lifted the belt he said he would. The commonwealth belt was always extra, and despite being able to take Limond down, he can be happy he went toe-to-toe with a man that once caused Amir Khan all kinds of problems.

What's next for the former EPL and British boxing star? Who knows, but whatever path he decides to choose, it'd be foolish to write him off. Could the star hang up his gloves, he tweeted saying "Good chat this morning with @davidcoldwell we both just had a laugh about the journey we have been on, dreams came true! Thanks pal" So, quite possibly, the end is near.
