The round of 16 kicks off today with a huge match between 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil and their fellow South American footballers Chile. Clearly all of these matches are ones to watch, but considering both teams will have huge support from the fans in attendance, we should expect a rowdy game today!
Both teams have maintained their own notoriety as the group stage progressed, so it's hard to pick a side right now. Clearly having "home field advantage" could help Brazil, but who's to say?
"They have players with a lot of quality. It's always difficult to play a team like that," Brazil midfielder Luiz Gustavo told the press this week. "We don't think about what happened in the past. We have to think about what's in front of us now. Now it's a different story, with new players. Anything is possible."
Striker Fred added: "This is one of Chile's best teams in the last few years. It's a very fast and technical team, with players who have a lot of experience in international football."
"Now we can't make any more mistakes," Brazil's manager Luiz Felipe Scolari admitted. "In the group stage we could still slip here and there and still advance. Now we can't. We have to have a very balanced team, we can't make any mistakes, that's what has to change beginning with this next game."
It's anyone's game in the knockout stage of the World Cup!
