Venus Williams was recently knocked out of Wimbledon by Petra Kvitova, and instantly her support would of switched to her sister, Serena Williams, but both veterans suffered a first-week exit. The two had dominated the tennis world for what's felt like forever, but one week at the biggest tennis tournament and it's clear to see that the power has finally shifted. Do they have what it takes to bounce back, or are they days of domination over for good?

Serena was hoping to beat France's Alize Cornet, but she fell to a 1-6 6-3 6-4 defeat meaning she suffered her earliest Wimbledon defeat since 2005.Cronet, 24, was delighted, and explained her joy, saying:

"I just cannot believe it. Three years ago I couldn't play on grass, I was so bad, but now I have beaten Serena, the world number one on her own court. I have to get used to it and focus on the next match because the tournament is not over for me. I am not sure how I did it but just with the heart and the help from the crowd. She helped me a bit too because she made two big mistakes because I think she was nervous too."

Is it time for the Williams sisters to retire? Wimbledon is shaping up to be one to remember, with both the men and women giving their all on the court, which has so far translated in to the most exciting tournament witnessed in years. Can Cornet win it all?
