Police have revealed that one person was killed and four others were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning at an unofficial pre-party in L.A. during the BET Awards weekend.
According to The Guardian, L.A. police officer Drake Madison reported that the fatal incident happened at the Monalizza Restaurant & Banquet Hall. It was not immediately clear whether the shooter attended the party or fired from outside, he said.
MStars News previously reported that a man was stabbed in the stomach on Saturday night at the Lure nightclub, in a separate incident, while attending a party hosted by rapper Meek Mill.

In the shooting incident, the gunman fired several rounds at the event, which BET claimed they did not organized. According to Reuters one of three people taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance passed away, police reported, adding that the others injured are listed in stable condition after taking themselves to a local hospital.
It was unclear whether the shooting happened inside or outside the restaurant. Details are also unknown at this time to know if the shooting was gang related, police said.
"The two isolated incidents over the weekend occurred at locations with events that were unauthorized and unaffiliated with the BET Awards, BET Experience at L.A. LIVE or their partners," the BET statement read.
"Security remains the number one priority for all official BET events and the network and all organizers will continue to maintain a safe environment for all planned activities," the statement added.
Police are still searching for suspects in both incidents that happened over the weekend. Names of the victims, and wounded have not been yet released.
