After hitting success with her music and landing acting gigs in Hollywood, Rita Ora continues her winning streak by landing on the cover of Flare magazine. But there is something on the British pop singer's mind as she opens up about the comparison between her and Rihanna.
The British singer counts Grammy winner Gwen Stefani as a musical inspiration. Because the No Doubt lead vocalist can evoke emotions into her lyrics, the R.I.P artist wants to mix her soulful anthems with booming hooks. Though the I Will Never Let You Down singer can cite as many musical influences as she want to, there will always be the comparison to Rihanna.
When you look at the cover photo to Flare magazine, you can see somewhat of a before-and-after theme between the two best-selling talents. Notice the uncanny resemblance with their hairstyle and short locks. Did I mention how both female artists know how to flaunt those red lips to the camera?
The 90210 actress isn't afraid to recognize the comparison between them. Ora admits, "There's always competition. I definitely feel it. I thrive off of it. I love it. I don't look at it as competition. I look at it as a form of energy."
If listeners want to continue with the comparison, go right ahead. The X-Factor judge can hold her own and dish it out with the rest of them.
Asked whether she is just like her viral hit, Boss A** B*tch, the Fifty Shades of Grey actress states, "What does a boss feel like? I can't say it. I can't. Because a boss-a** bitch doesn't say they're a boss."
The British solo female artist knows who she is and certainly doesn't have to prove it.
Flare Magazine, with Rita Ora on the cover, hits newsstands in August. Readers, what do you think of the comparison between Rihanna and Ora?
