Though the United States are out of the 2014 World Cup tournament after suffering a defeat at the hands of Belgium, goalkeeper Tim Howard has entered the FIFA record books for stopping 16 shots during the match - the most saves since 1966. Accordingly, the Secretary of Defense Wikipedia page was edited momentarily with Howard holding the office!
Chuck Hagel is back on the page, but the Secretary of Defense Wikipedia page for a short time had Tim Howard holding the position. Some would say he deserves such a title for his amazing performance this week.
Here is a screen shot of the edited Wikipedia page:
Not only was this Wikipedia page edited for a deserving Howard, a new White House petition has been drafted to rename the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after the goalkeeper.
"Whereas Tim Howard has shown himself to be a national treasure, Minister of Defense, Friend of Joe Biden, and the holder for the record of most saves in a World Cup match," the petition states. "Therefore, we politely request that we rename the airport to recognize his accomplishments, and meritorious service to the United States of America."
