"I'm following the maps that lead to you."

Maroon 5 just released the video for their summer song "Maps," and it's pretty dramatic to say the least. The band has had their fair share of dramatic videos, anyone remember the "One More Night" one? Well it looks like Adam Levine and co really outdid themselves in this gruesome video for their latest single.

The Voice coach gets to show off some of his acting skills in the video, as he bursts into the emergency room searching for the love of his life, who has been pretty badly hurt in a car accident. After being struck down by a car, his girlfriend appears to have extreme lacerations on her face, but what is even more heartbreaking is the paramedics trying to revive her with a defibrillator, as she appears lifeless on the operating table.

The video happens in flashbacks as Levine retraces the night, realizing that his actions of cozying up to another woman are what lead to the subsequent actions taking place.

"Maps" is the first sing off of Maroon 5's upcoming album V, which is due out on September 2.

Of the follow up record to Overexposed, Adam says that this record will kind of all over the board in terms of sound.

"This album is very much all over the place. There's some stuff on our record that sounds a little like early Maroon 5, and then there's some stuff that sounds like the newer direction that we went in," Levine told MTV earlier this month. "We thought we'd get back to certain elements that we'd been missing out on for a while with our original sound, but also bridge the gap with the new stuff that we've been doing. I think it's an all-encompassing kind of record."
