1) Howard is a Jersey Boy
Everybody's favorite soccer star hails from North Brunswick, New Jersey. You just want to say something bad about Jersey but you really can't. During the team USA vs. team Belgium match, students from North Brunswick High School were cheering for their hometown hero.

In an interview with Campus Crusade for Christ, Howard reveals, "The most important thing in my life is Christ. He's more important to me than winning or losing or whether I'm playing or not. Everything else is just a bonus."
That's right! God was with him making those spectacular saves!
3) He Has Tourette's Syndrome
Often associated with the exclamation of curse words, Tourette's (or Tourette) Syndrome causes involuntary tics, both motor and vocal. Though Howard was diagnosed with the disorder at age 11, he wouldn't let it get the best of him.
In an interview with Tourette Syndrome Association Inc, the goalkeeper states, "Tourette's Syndrome is not a problem. It is part of my life. It doesn't affect me one way or another, on or off the field. My motto on TS is never let it be a stop sign. I's just a speed bump - another obstacle to overcome."
Definitely an inspiration to youngsters dealing with Tourette's today.
