Independence Day is a time to celebrate the United States of America in any and every way possible. So we've decided to compile a list of movies that embody the holiday and spirit of July 4! Take a look at the top 5 movies to watch this Fourth of July weekend!
Tom Cruise stars as a Vietnam War veteran that, after being injured in battle, comes back to the States only to realize that not everyone supported his fight. Soon he turns into a radical protester, while dealing with the harsh realities of life after war.
Sure this is a dark and serious flick, but it is a great way to view part of the nation's history.
Speaking of Mr. Cruise, nothing screams "America" more than Top Gun. You know all about this incredible fighter pilot film, so watch it again and make sure to crank the Kenny Loggins while you're at it!
Even if you don't like Mel Gibson, there's no denying that his 2000 historical drama is a pretty great choice for this list. It is literally about the Revolutionary War. Though the British bad guys are comically evil, the movie itself holds up enough to get some holiday enjoyment out of it!
