In Mike Trout's short, yet memorable career he's had no shortage of heroic moments. However the young star delivered one more in the Los Angeles Angels' 7-6 win over the Houston Astros. Trout, who is not only the star player for the Angels, but quickly becoming the face of the MLB, proved his ability to showcase a game-changing hit once again. With the count at 0-2, he hit the pitchers slider over the wall, located near the waterfall, to send the Angels fans in to a frenzy. This comeback win was the 24th of its kind this season, but could Trout's heroics lead them to a World Series win?
Through Trout's .313 average, 20 home runs and 63 RBI, the Angels are sitting firmly with the No.1 Wild Card spot, and second place in their division, only a few wins behind the highly-tipped Oakland Athletics. Despite a couple of seasons of underachievement, Trout has been adding accolade after accolade, and he doesn't appear ready to stop any time soon, however, it seems he finally has the winning combination surround him, so perhaps his statistics could lead to a ring.
Trout has already ensured his team look a certainty for the playoffs, despite there being a lot of games to play, so it's easy to cast an eye on the future, and wonder how Trout, one of the best players in the clutch, will perform when every minute of every game is in "the clutch". It's scary for opposing players, knowing that this youngster keeps getting better and better, and some players notoriously up their game in the postseason, so how good could Trout be if he gets there?
Who knows how he will perform, but Trout is most certainly doing his best to take his team there, and then, and only then will we see the real Trout, however, the other teams might not like what they see.
