Is LeBron James going back to Cleveland to once again become a Cleveland Cavalier? Somebody stop the presses. The superstar forward who ditched his team on live television in 2010 to join the Miami Heat, setting his jerseys ablaze across Cleveland, could be coming home. For a long while it's seemed like he'd stay in Miami or return home to Cleveland, but lately there's more and more reasons to believe a return home might be his preferred choice. Even superstar Lil Wayne has weighed in, saying LeBron will return to Cleveland. Can the unthinkable return become a reality?
Lil Wayne recently had his say, saying a return is in the cards, he explained "I think 'Bron going back home. Especially with [NBA point guard] Kyrie [Irving] signing that extension...I think 'Bron might go to Cleveland, and you might see a [Chris] Bosh or somebody like that follow him." Lil Wayne's rarely wrong, right?
LeBron has been on vacation, and during that time his agent Rich Paul had meetings last week, on LeBron's behalf. Cleveland was one of the teams he held talks with, and the latest reports suggest that LeBron and Rich will see the top-3 contenders next week for final meetings, with Cleveland and Miami believed to be two of the three.
The Heat can provide James with familiarity, whilst the Cavaliers can provide him with cap room, redemption, Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins. Which option should he choose? A Cleveland return might be a risk, but it seems James, Paul and Wayne think it's a risk worth taking.
