Scrubs actor Zach Braff has a particular fine taste in music, especially if you have listened to the memorable Garden State soundtrack. That's why music fans should be excited to hear that the indie director has recruited Bon Iver to compose a brand new song for his latest flick, Wish I Was Here.

In the comedy/drama film, the Chicken Little voice actor plays a struggling actor, a stressed out father, and a world-weary husband. Life seems to come to a halt in the coming-of-age tale as the conflicted grown-up searches for meaning at the age of 35.

After being launched on Kickstarter, the film is already on its way in the postproduction process. The Last Kiss actor specifically asked singer/songwriter Justin Vernon, to write a new song for the film's soundtrack. After seeing the footage, the indie folk artist was immediately inspired to compose the religious titled, Heavenly Father.

Music Supervisor Mary Ramos recounts to NPR Music how the songwriting process happened "Justin and Nate [Vernon] talked a little about their father - all the while Justin kept distractedly humming. Eventually, he sang out the words, Heavenly Father." Ramos continues, "Before I even left their house, Justin was recording the first version of the song in his downstairs studio. His inspiration was that immediate."

Bon Iver contributes Heavenly Father and Holocene to the soundtrack. Make sure to listen to Heavenly Father here.
