The final season of HBO's True Blood continues with the explosive 'Fire in the Hole.' We've got shootouts, sex scenes, and a crucial death scene all in one action-packed episode.

After a long search, Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten) finally finds out where Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) is, but it's too late. Northman is already dying slowly, infected from the Hepatitis V strain. Eric has lost hope; everyone he loves -- Godric, Nora, and Sookie (Anna Paquin) -- is gone.

The two have a flashback to a different time in France. The Authority wants their allegiance, but Eric wants to be with his lovely mate, Sylvie (Gabriella Wright). To get Eric's cooperation, the Yakumo Corporation, the makers of Tru Blood, send him a message. The men in black suits want Eric to choose between Pam and Sylvie.

Back in the present day, Alcide (Joe Manganiello) walks out of his shower and discovers an empty house. The werewolf uses his nose to track Sookie's scent. While Alcide is stomping his way into Bill's place, Sookie and Bill are on the run, driving to a secret location.

During their car ride, Bill (Stephen Moyer) reveals he is not the same person from before. Because of his clean slate, Sookie needs to drink from him, so that he can feel her. While she drinks from his arm, Sookie reminds Bill she has a boyfriend.

While Sherriff Andy (Chris Bauer) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) rescue Adilyn (Bailey Noble) from jail, Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) ends up in trouble, driving towards the hate group and their new Mayor. The vigilantes kill Sam's vampire protector with a stake bullet. After ripping off his clothes and transforming into an owl, Sam flies away as the group continues shooting at him.

Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) starts talking about children and adoption to his vampire girlfriend, Violet (Karolina Wydra). She thinks her boyfriend lost his balls and should man up. During their argument, Andy interrupts by bringing in Adilyn. Still pissed off, Violet roughs up Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) because she doesn't want her boy toy anywhere near his old flame.

The H-vamps want Holly's help to go hunting. Sookie's plan, which is risky at best, is to serve as vampire bait. Because Bill is distracted by his memories of his family, Sookie ends up cutting herself. Her faery blood attracts the infected vampire's attention, also causing Sam and Alcide to meet-up.

During their drive, Jason and the others stumble onto Sam's abandoned truck. During their standoff with the hate group, Hoyt's mother pulls the trigger first and wounds Jessica. In one super-speed motion, Violet rips out the mother's intestines.

Because Eric chose her over Sylvie, Pam has been feeling guilty over years. She can't let him give up, especially because Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) is still alive. Hearing that name brings Eric slowly back to life. He will try to stay alive, only to kill her.

But Eric isn't the only person who wants Sarah dead. The Yakumo Corporation's men in black suits are back, and they too want her dead because she poisoned their Tru Blood supply.

Sookie is worried that she doesn't love Alcide as much as he feels for her. During her moment of desperation, the H-Vamps all of a sudden attack. Sookie finds herself in the midst of a gunfight as Jason and the others find her just in time.

The last bullet is saved for Alcide though. Sookie screams as she watches Alcide get shot in the head and drop to the ground dead.
