This news hardly comes as a surprise given the show's smash hit status, but The Walking Dead will officially be a part of San Diego Comic-Con 2014 to tease Season 5. This will mark the fourth straight year the AMC show has appeared at the event.
The panel with the cast and creator will take place at the famous Hall H, the large room that fits thousands of people, on Friday, July 25 from 12:20 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. The panel will include stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman and Michael Cudlitz, along with executive producer and showrunner Scott Gimple, series creator Robert Kirkman, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, executive producer David Alpert and make-up artist Greg Nicotero.
Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick will moderate the panel. The cast will sign autographs from 1:50 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. in booth #4237.
Walking Dead Escape also returns for its third year. This offsite event lets participants act as "survivors" as they run through a "Zombie Infected Evacuation Zone" at Petco Park while "zombies" chase them.
In other news, AMC aired a marathon of all four seasons of The Walking Dead during its "Dead, White and Blue" July 4th weekend. The marathon led to a special Season 5 preview edition of Talking Dead, which featured the first preview clip from the new season.
Gimple and actress Aisha Tyler appeared on the show alongside Hardwick, who presented the clip. The scene features Carol, Tyreese and baby Judith on the train tracks as some walkers descend on them. Check it out here.
