CW’s ‘The Flash’ Adds Robbie Amell To Lineup! Find Out Which DC Comics Superhero He’s Playing!

Now that viewers have become accustomed to Stephen Amell as Ollie Queen, the CW network will adding his cousin to their Arrow spinoff. Robbie Amell is joining the cast of The Flash, with Grant Gustin in the role of the titled DC Comics superhero.  

Even though his previous TV show was short-lived, the CW has brought back The Tomorrow People actor to another program of theirs. Audiences should get ready to see the Picture This co-star as Ronnie Raymond. On the speedster's series, Raymond is the fiancé of Danielle Panabaker's character, Caitlin Stone.

Ronald Raymond should sound familiar to comic book fans. In the DC Comics, Raymond is a high school student who ends up crossing paths with Nobel-prize winning physicist, Martin Stein. A nuclear explosion causes their minds and bodies to meld. The split personality forces them to join forces as Firestorm.  

Executive Producer Greg Berlanti discusses the latest addition to the red runner's cast, "Producers Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) - and to actually have someone with Robbie's talent playing the role is beyond exciting." Berlanti continues, "We can't wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out."

It's too early to tell when we will be seeing the fire-starter in action. We don't even know if Stein will even be introduced into the series. It will be interesting though to see how the showrunners develop his story arc during the first season.
