While we can't help but be excited for some great stars and shows receiving Emmy nominations for the 66th Annual Primetime Emmys (True Detective, Ricky Gervais, Game of Thrones), we would be remiss to not point out some snubs that occurred. Let's take a look at just a handful of stars and series that didn't receive an Emmy nomination in 2014.

We know that plenty of people out there didn't like Jay Leno as the host of The Tonight Show, but he is an icon. His final year as host of the legendary show has come and gone, and apparently we don't need to nominate him for an Emmy either!

BBC America series Orphan Black's star Tatiana Maslany was absolutely snubbed for an Emmy this year. After plenty of critical acclaim for her performance as eight different clones with very different personalities, the Emmys decided not to throw her a nomination. Why do you think that is?

The Walking Dead broke viewing and ratings records on AMC, but will only have these statistics to grasp instead of an Emmy nomination, let alone an award.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine and series star Andy Samberg got some love at this year's Golden Globes, so maybe the Emmys don't want the comparison so the awards ceremony snubbed this great comedy.

The Americans - a show that makes audiences root for Russian spies trying to take down America in the Cold War - got zero nominations. This includes stars Kerri Russell and Matthew Rhys who have definitely set an example for cable television performances for years to come. (Margot Martindale got a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, though)

Perhaps our biggest issue with these nominations was the lack of Hannibal. Critics love the show, but ratings and viewership is down so we understand the snub. But come on! This show is so good!
