Looking as though they were long lost BBFs, singer/actress Jennifer Lopez and First Lady Michelle Obama posed for a sweet selfie at the 2014 LULAC Convention in New York.
JLo introduced the first lady Thursday and also Instagrammed a super-smiley selfie with the caption, "Me and my girl @flotus at #LULAC National convention for the empowerment of Latinos. #represent #keynotespeaker #introingthekeynotespeaker #dreambig."
The women, clearly delighted to be in each others company, embraced warmly onstage in front of luncheon attendees.
LULAC, which stands for League of United Latin American Citizens, held its 85th national convention in New York City at the midtown Manhattan Hilton. LULAC is the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States. Both Lopez and the First Lady were guest speakers and addressed 1,500 Latino leaders at the luncheon. 20,000 additional participants including top leaders from government, business and the Hispanic community were expected to attended the overall convention to address issues affecting Latinos across the U.S.
Following the luncheon, Lopez held a private screening of her TV series Los Jets. Los Jets is a six-part documentary series about a high school soccer team composed primarily of Latino immigrants. Set in a small southern town, the kids defy odds and face adversity on and off the field.
Lopez wore a pale pink fitted dress which she color coordinated with one worn by her six-year-old daughter, Emme, while Mrs. Obama wore Tanya Taylor creation – a blue and white patterned dress paired with silver pumps.
The First Lady also posted photos from the day’s events on her Instagram page. Check out her meet and greet Global Kids.
