Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney welcomed their first child together, a daughter, into the world on Thursday, July 9 in Los Angeles.
The 46-year-old late night host took to Twitter to make the official announcement: "Congratulations to my beautiful and very tough wife Molly on delivering our baby girl this morning," and, "Thanks for all your kind baby wishes - turns out, not ALL tweets are mean!"
New mom and head Live! writer McNearny, 36, took the time to chime in on Twitter as well, with her usual humor: "Kids, don't do drugs. Until you have a baby. Then do ALL OF THEM."
Kimmel and McNearney began dating in 2009 and got engaged while on safari in Africa in 2012. They were married last July.
The talk show host revealed McNearney's pregnancy in February on the Ellen DeGeneres Show where he joked about potential baby names: "Karate or The Riddler are the names we're thinking of right now...And I would like the baby's middle name to be Effin. And not the curse version of it, like e-f-f-i-n. Like Ellen Effin DeGeneres. I mean, what a great name, right?"
The couple chose to be surprised by the sex of their baby. They have since decided to name her Jane.
Kimmel has two children - son Kevin, 20, and daughter Kate, 22 - from his first marriage to Gina Maddy.
