We've seen glimpses of Batman's costume in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and even got a full look at Henry Cavill in his full Superman costume. A new rumor has more details about Ben Affleck's outfit in the superhero blockbuster.
The site Batman-on-Film.com reports through a source named "Shoeless" that Affleck's costume has a cloth look but is in fact mostly foam rubber:
"Batfleck's Batsuit is steel grey and black. It's mostly made of foam rubber even though it appears to be 'cloth.' It has the muscles built into the suit (which I think is supposed to be 'armor' under the 'cloth' bodysuit.
As usual, this is only a rumor until proven otherwise. This does, however, contradict some of what Kevin Smith said recently on his Fat Man on Batman podcast with Neal Adams. Smith pointed to a statue from The Dark Knight Returns: Hunt for The Dark Knight and said "They're doing that one for the next movie. Like, he looks like that." When Adams mentioned the fan film Batman: Dead End, Smith said, "I'm telling you, that's what they're doing in this new movie Batman movie. It's him in material. None of this body armor sh*t."
We'll likely see more shots of Affleck in the Batsuit either via the studio's official release or through fan photos from the filming in Michigan, so expect more news on Batman's costume in the coming weeks.
