With readers anxiously awaiting IDW Publishing's release of The Shunned One, the new thriller series by creator Alan Robert is already getting the movie treatment. Death hits the big screen like you have never seen before.
The IDW horror comic follows the Angel of Death as he turns his back on his true mission. After refusing to take any more innocent lives, the grim reaper's actions suddenly alter the balance of the universe. With a pack of vengeful death angels hunting him down, the rogue heavenly spirit has to hide amongst the people he once tried to claim for himself.
The Coalition Group and Wasted Talent Entertainment have partnered up to bring the comic to life. Jack Reher (Grizzly) is already at work penning the screenplay. Glenn Allen, co-founder of Brainstorm Digital (The Wolf of Wall Street), has jumped onboard as the film's VFX supervisor.
The Crawl To Me writer/artist is ecstatic about seeing his property being brought to the big screen, ""To watch this thing take shape as a film, even before the comic is released, is pretty amazing." Robert continues, "I think what interests people most about the property is that it isn't a typical, Biblical take on angels, whatsoever. It's a whole new mythology. You've never seen angels like this anywhere before."
Each issue of The Shunned One will have a cover illustrated by acclaimed Italian artist Francesco Mattina. As reported here, Robert will also have a Halloween special edition of his popular Killogy series, starring ex-Misfits legend Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein.
The Shunned One #1 is expected to hit stores sometime in 2015. Readers, are you excited to see a horror movie starring the Angel of Death?
