Susan Sarandon has told Britain's HELLO! magazine that she is "down with cannabis," but shuns tobacco.
Her number one secret to looking youthful? The 67-year-old has never smoked a cigarette.
She says, "These days there's a lot of women who don't look like you thought 67 was going to look so I'm not so unusual. A lot of it is down to being happy and staying curious and keeping a sense of humor. But my main advice would be, first of all, don't smoke - or rather, don't smoke cigarettes."
Sarandon, however, gives the thumbs up to weed.
"I'm down with cannabis, but tobacco is the worst for the skin. And apart from that, just practice moderation because too much of anything takes its toll. Not too much sun, not too much alcohol, not too much food."
Sarandon admits she is not much of a drinker, because she, like most people, feels sluggish when she drinks too much. When she's feeling stressed, she power walks through Manhattan instead: ''Alcohol doesn't really help me. I find the next morning I'm in worse shape than before. What I've had in my time is a lot of midnight walks down the West Side Highway of New York City.''
Sarandon currently stars in Tammy with Melissa McCarthy. She plays McCarthy's grandmother, but she's also about to become one in real life. Her daughter, 29-year-old Eva Amurri Martino, and hubby Kyle Martino will become parents in August.
At the Tammy premiere she was wearing a name necklace with the word "Honey" spelled out. She said she wants her grandchildren to call her that and added, "I do think it's your responsibility as a parent or a grandparent to make memories."
