Get ready for your weekly dish on all things Real Housewives of New York related.
Our time in New York is almost up for this season, but the ladies are making sure that we are going out with a bang, or maybe just a banger.
Carole's 50th birthday bash takes center stage during the second to last episode of the season. The housewife enlists the help of Heather to plan and execute the whole party while she is away on business in London.
With a theme like 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," what can go wrong?
Heather has a pretty big list of things to get ready and to include at this party such as white lights, 1000 white rose pedals, a personal chandeliers from Carole's house, live butterflies in the center pieces, headless mannequins, and snake handlers, just to name a few. It seems like this party is going to be either hideously tacky, or a night that none of these women will forget.
We flash over to Sonja, who is in the midst of a whirlwind romance with her former flame Harry. The two seem to be pretty smitten with each other as they go to pick out a dog together, and Harry even surprises Sonja with a promise ring. Again while one couple is happily in love, it appears that another one is working on their relationship.
Kristen and Josh go to see a couple's therapist. The pair tries to fix the problems in their relationship by agreeing to communicate more saying that while they are out on a date and Josh has to take a business call, that he will first tell Kristen he loves her and then he will be able to leave the table.
Ramona helps Avery pack for college, something that we don't envy her doing. We remember those days and they weren't fun. As Ramona and Mario leave to bring their daughter down to her new college, we cant help but get sentimental and think of all the fun times we've had watching the Singer's over the years.
Like the rest of the season Aviva is scarce during this episode, after not getting an invite to Carole's party, the only scene we see her in is when she helps get fellow amputee Heather Abbott, who was injured in the Boston marathon bombing, a new leg. It's a very touching moment and it actually makes us miss this side of Aviva.
Like any good New Yorker, you've got to have your physic that you seek advice from right? Well Sonja's got her bases covered, bringing her Christian mystic out to dinner where he breaks out tarot cards to give Sonja a reading. He tells her some pretty great things, for instance that her money situation is finally balancing out, but after giving the good news he drops a bomb, saying that there is one person in her inner circle that has it out for her, also alluding to the fact that she is a brunette but says that it's not Carole.
Who could it be, either Heather or Luann?
The day of the party has arrived and Carole shows up to the extravaganza making even more demands. Unfortunately no snakes were allowed in the restaurant because it was against the NYC health code. It seems that Carole would rather be at the venue to boss people around rather than actually help decorate. Thinking that Heather has the whole thing under control she brings in a crew of nail artists to get herself a manicure.
The party goes off without a hitch, everything looks beautiful, expect for maybe the butterfly centerpieces, which appears to have killed some of the butterflies.
All the guests seem to be having a good time except for Luann who reveals to the girls that her and Jacques, her boyfriend of 4 years, have decided to take a break. Lu appears very emotional as she confides in the girls but breaks down when Heather comes to give her a hug. A tearful Luann jokes that it's Carole's birthday and she's not going to cry, to which Carole jokes right back, "It's my birthday and you can cry if you want to."
It appears that the night seems to get back on the cheerful side as Heather gives a hilarious speech to Carole, which is actually an email that Carole sent her with guidelines on how she should give her speech. It seems like this housewife needed to be in control of every aspect of her party.
Drama soon erupts between Sonja and Luann as Sonja discovers that Lu hasn't told her about the break with Jacques. She approaches her asking why she didn't tell her saying that Luann is always saying how she isn't there for her, yet she doesn't share things like this with Sonja.
It appears that Luann isn't being a very good friend to Sonja as the episode ends with Luann leaving the party with Sonja's man Harry, it looks like the physic was right and that Luann was after Sonja.
Fans will have to tune in to see how all the drama concludes on the season finale next week.
