'Kim Kardashian Hollywood Game' - Hit Viral App Projected to Make $200 Million (VIDEO)

People just can't get enough of the Kardashians. Case in point - analysts forecast the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood app is set to rake in $200 million by the end of the year.

Launched just three weeks ago, the app is a breakout hit for San Francisco based developer Glu Mobile, who's stock price is the highest it's been in 18 months, making this the most profitable year in the company's history.

The game of how to become a Hollywood A-lister has already been award a five star rating by over 50,000 (and counting) users on Apple's app store and holds the #4 spot there. Kim Kardashian: Hollywood has also earned five stars on Google Play.

Glu took an already existing game concept, previously called Stardom Hollywood and rebranded it with Kardashian attached. The union of the two resulted in an instant smash.

"We identified Kim Kardashian-West as arguably the best brand fit in the world and we approached her," CEO Niccolo de Masi explains. "Everyone quickly recognized the tremendous business opportunity."

In the virtual Hollywood setting of the game, Kim's avatar guides a player's avatar on the how-to's of being famous. A player starts as the game as a normal working stuff who, by following Kim's advice, works his or her way up the celebrity ladder. By attending parties, being photographed or seducing a celebrity's boyfriend, you gain points and earn money. And don't forget to flirt! As Avatar Kim says, "dating famous people will get you more fans."

While the game is free, you can speed up your rise to stardom by in app purchases ranging from $3.99 for a "Rising Star Pack" to $99.99 for 175,000 virtual dollars.

Despite the obvious superficiality of the game, people are flocking to it as it offers a fun respite from everyday life.

Payal Shah, gamer and entrepreneur behind fine jewelry brand L'Dezen explains, "It's almost like living a parallel life. Not that I strive to be an A-List Hollywood celebrity - I have clients that are, so I know what their lives are like. It's a fun escape after a challenging day. The fancy clothes, the stunning villas and apartments, the clubbing and socializing are just a few keystrokes way. Literally while you're lying in bed."
