WWE taped its July 18, 2014 edition of Friday Night Smackdown on Tuesday in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The show begins with Dean Ambrose, who cuts a promo about wanting revenge for Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane beating him down on Monday Night Raw earlier in the week. He gets a match with Kane in the main event.
Alberto Del Rio defeats Kofi Kingston in the first match of the night. These two will appear in the Battle Royal for the Intercontinental Championship on Sunday at Battleground.
Alicia Fox faces Eva Marie with Nikki Bella as the special guest referee, but the match never starts as the two combatants just turn and beat up Nikki.
Chris Jericho beats Luke Harper by disqualification when Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan get involved after a lengthy match. The Usos run down to make the save and fight off their opponents for the Tag Team Championships on Sunday.
Rusev and Lana have another confrontation with Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter.
Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus defeat Fandango and The Miz in a tag team match.
Paige and AJ Lee defeat Summer Rae and Layla as the "frenemies" angle for the Divas Championship continues.
Ambrose defeats Kane by disqualification when Seth Rollins gets involved. The two men beat him down and hit their finishers, but Roman Reigns runs in to fight them off to close the show.
