CW's 'The Flash' Adds William Sadler To Lineup! [Twitter Photo]: Find Out Who Simon Stagg Is

Actor William Sadler is joining the cast of CW's The Flash, starring Grant Gustin as the titled DC Comics superhero. Straight from the comics, the major super-villain, Simon Stagg, will be making their way to your TV screen.

In the DC Universe, Stagg is the unscrupulous businessman behind Stagg Enterprises. The corrupt company. His socialite daughter, Sapphire Stagg, secretly dates one of his employees, Rex Mason, behind his back. Because the father disapproves of his daughter's relationship, he orders Rex to be killed, which leads to Sapphire's boyfriend becoming the superhero, Metamorpho.

Viewers have seen Stagg before in the animated cartoons, Beware the Batman and Justice League. This time, we will be seeing the live-action version of the shrewd tycoon in the second episode, 'Fastest Man Alive.'

The announcement was made on the official Twitter of @CWTheFlash. A behind-the-scenes photo was posted, presenting The Shawshank Redemption actor in his fancy suit. It appears Central City University will be hosting a fundraiser event for the CEO.

The Iron Man 3 actor remind viewers on his official Twitter, the episode reunites the thespian with director David Nutter. The two previously worked with each other on the sci-fi flick, Disturbing Behavior.

Sadler tweets, "Working on The Flash with my friend David Nutter again. Disturbing Behavior, Roswell pilot, Traveler, Pacific. Nobody does it better."
