Entertainment Weekly has released its full San Diego Comic-Con 2014 preview, and The Avengers: Age of Ultron naturally has a prominent position in the piece. The article details even more information about the superhero sequel.
Firstly, we learn that Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) are part of "Team Ultron," according to writer/director Joss Whedon, and they have a "fiery hatred" for the Avengers.
"He's quick-tempered. He gets agitated. He's impatient. But he's super protective," Taylor-Johnson said of his character (via Comic Book Movie). He had to become a father figure to his twin sister. He's physical and she's psychological. It's kind of them against the world."
Olsen also commented on Scarlet Witch. "It's not that she's insane," she said. "It's just that she's overly stimulated."
Whedon also said Vision is the fourth member of "Team Ultron" and confirmed Paul Bettany's playing the character is not a coincidence after voicing JARVIS for several movies.
"By his own admission, Paul's very disappointed that he actually has to show up this time," Robert Downey Jr. joked. EW describes Vision as a "synthetic, superpowered human designed by Ultron to show that he, too, has the power to create life."
Finally, Whedon addressed Scarlett Johansson's noticeable pregnancy. "She's not going to spend the whole movie carrying groceries," he said. "We didn't trim any scenes. We're like, 'We'll make it work.'"
The article also states Johansson had three stunt doubles with CGI markers on their faces in order to edit in the actress' face in post-production. "It's always funny," Chris Evans says of the stunt doubles. "You walk by, 'Hey, Scarlett--oh, weird. You're not Scarlett at all. Sorry. A lot of fake Scarletts around.'"
