They say that there is no position as important as the striker in football, and every transfer window teams seem to focus on that are the most, adding weight to this belief. This summer appears to be no different as the likes of Sunderland, Real Madrid, Liverpool, QPR and Everton are fighting it out to sign Fabio Borini, Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Negredo, Loic Remy, Edison Cavani and Samuel Eto'o. Which of these strikers will get their dream Premier League move, or EPL exit? Stay tuned for more on this transfer window.
Liverpool forward Borini spent last season on loan at Sunderland, and they're closing in on a $22 million swoop for the forward. Borini, 23, was a huge hit, and he'd free up the funds Liverpool need to sign QPR striker Remy, for around $16 million. In turn QPR would look to use that money to add Chelsea veteran Eto'o, meaning the teams would be almost making a series of trades to satisfy their striking needs.
Alvaro Negredo could leave for Madrid, as Manchester City's forward is rumoured to be unhappy, and the Spanish side are looking to improve their already brilliant squad. Could Manchester City then look for another striker, like Edison Cavani? Everton are close to signing Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku, in a $30 million deal. The forward had a brilliant loan spell, and it's believed he is desperate to play there on a full-time basis.
Which of these strikers will make the best buy? Looks like the 2014/15 Premier League season will be about goals and more goals.
