After becoming a hit TV series on the CW Network, the green archer continues his winning streak from the live action Arrow to the animated DC Nation short. DC Entertainment gives viewers a behind-the-scenes tour into the making of animated film starring Green Arrow and Black Canary.

Though his origin story is different from the TV shows, Ollie Queen continues to be the crime-fighting vigilante of Star City. The superhero has a love/hate relationship going on with Black Canary, much like in the television series. The two are constantly at odds with each other, even though they want to be romantically involved.

The animated films take a slightly more cartoony insight to their dynamic. Notice how Black Canary has cut off her long blonde hair and has a more punkish outfit. The crime-fighting duo manage to argue and banter with each other, as if they were best friends. The archer now has talking bow, who manages to answer his every demand.

Animated director Jeff Mednikow describes handling the fight scenes, "The shorts are very action-packed. I think the idea behind these shorts was to have something that has that kinetic, cinematic sense of action, but doesn't lose its natural sense of humor and is still very likable at the same time."

If viewers listen carefully, they will notice that Green Arrow is voiced by actor Will Friedle (Boy Meets World). Fans will recognize Friedle from playing Terry McGuinness, the future Dark Knight in Batman Beyond.

The Green Arrow stars in his own animated shorts for DC Nation. Readers, do you prefer the live-action or the cartoon version of the green archer?
