Skye McCole Bartusiak's Death UPDATE: 'The Patriot' Star Dead After Suffering From A Seizure, Choking To Death

MStars News has an update on the sudden death of the young actress, 21-year-old Skye McCole Bartusiak. TMZ has shared new information stating that Skye's health had been up and down lately after she had been suffering from seizures.

The site reported that the Skye's boyfriend came home to find the former childhood star sitting up in bed Saturday morning in her parents converted Texas garage, already dead. Now new reports reveal that her parents believe that she died from an apparent seizure and choked to death.

We previously reported that Skye, then age 7 played Mel Gibson's daughter in the 2000 blockbuster hit, The Patriot died on July 18, making her the second star from the film to die in their twenties. In the film, Heath Ledger who played Skye's brother passed away from an accidental overdose to prescription drugs in 2008.

A spokesperson revealed via Deadline, that Skye was "a brave and caring young woman" who is "deeply missed by her family and friends."

Skye's last film included, Sick Boy. She also had roles in different kinds of short films.

Although law enforcement reported no "obvious signs" of suicide, a corners report has not yet ruled out the cause of death.
