Earlier this week we learned that FX ordered a second season of Fargo, a dark crime drama that garnered 18 Emmy nominations in its debut season. Now that we've had a bout a day to get excited about the all new episodes with a brand new cast and story, FX decided to announce more information: season two will be somewhat of a prequel to season one with some characters returning to tie the seasons together.
According to new reports, a younger version of Keith Carradine's character Lou Solverson is set to be a focal part of this prequel season. Set in 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, we can also expect a 4-year-old Molly in these new episodes.
"That time period is interesting - post-Vietnam, post-Watergate," head writer Noah Hawley said. "The best of America versus worst. That sense, I think, that this war had come home with people, and the violence and brutality of it. Lou Salverson went to Vietnam and came home, but now he's come back and it's here - it's domestic."
"I am excited to spend some time with Molly's mom," he exclaimed. Molly's mother will surely play a part in the new season, alongside Lou.
"Nothing is more fun than working with very young children on a set," Hawley added, jokingly.
