Congrats are in order for singer, Brandy Norwood who has been inducted into the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. as an Honorary member over the weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It was the organization's 66th Boule, where Norwood earned her salmon pink, and apple green colors. The singer announced the wonderful news via Instagram.
In the photo above the singer wrote, "Honorary #AKA"
Norwood joined her mother, Sonja Norwood, who is already a member, were the two attended the induction ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In the photo above Norwood wrote, "Today was a very special day," she wrote on Instagram. "My mom's legacy as an #AKA continues. Love to all of my #Sorors #sisterhood #ethics #strength #class #leadership #intellect #power #LOVE"
Norwood's induction makes her a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first Greek-lettered sorority established and incorporated by African-American college women. The sorority was founded on January 15, 1908, at Howard University, in Washington, D.C. by a group of 20 college women, led by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle.
