The cast of Season 4 of ABC's Revenge has just grown by one member, as Priviliged star Brian Hallisay has joined the show in the recurring role of Ben, according to TVLine.

The site calls Ben "a new friend of Jack's and a local cop. Fun-loving and easy going, he's drawn to Jack's world and especially to the people in it (including, presumably, Emily)." Could this mean that Ben is Emily's new love interest for next season?

Consider TVLine's previous two reports about Emily's new beau. Here is the original description:

"Emily's getting a major new love interest this fall. Details are sparse, but I hear the recurring character will be sexy (duh), charming (double duh) and full of secrets (I made that last one up, but, um, triple duh).

And here is the follow-up:

"He's a childhood friend of Jack's who has a touch of PTSD from his military days. He decides to make his short-term visit to the Hamptons permanent after something life-changing happens to Jack, then makes fast friends with a number of the locals - including Em."

Based on those reports, it seems likely that Ben could cozy up to Emily in Season 4.

Hallisay appeared for two seasons on Lifetime's The Client List, where he met his current wife, Jennifer Love Hewitt. He appeared before that on the ill-fated CW series Ringer. He currently recurs on Mistresses as, oddly enough, a character named Ben.

Hallisay first appears in the Season 4 premiere on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 10 p.m.
