It's everyone's favorite time of the week, Pretty Little Liars Tuesday, and we are breaking down all the juicy gossip from this week's episode just for you.
The episode starts with the return of Emily's mom, someone that we have kind of been missing the last few episodes, but you know how those Rosewood parents are, always disappearing.
To welcome herself back onto the series, she decides to throw a little dinner party for the girls, but she tells Emily that she mostly wants Alison to be there. When Emily looks quizzically at her mom she assures her daughter that she just wants Ali to know that she has an adult looking out for her.
The Haleb (Hanna & Caleb) relationship takes center stage during this episode, with Caleb going to bat for Hanna against Alison. It seems that he just wants Hanna to know that he is there for her. During an awkward lunch, Hanna says that she doesn't want her friends to have to choose between her and Ali, but she just doesn't feel comfortable around her since she has returned. Caleb assures her that he will always be there for her. Giving all of us Haleb fans some hope.
Meanwhile during all the making up and dinner party plans, Aria takes on her first day volunteering at Radley Sanitarium, which proves to be pretty insightful. While monitoring the patient's art class she discovers that the drawing Bethany Young did of Mrs. Di, was actually from a notebook that she gave to her roommate Rhonda before she left the sanitarium. While checking Rhonda's room, Aria finds the notebook of all of Bethany's sketches, hidden under the bed, of all places, and brings it home to study with Spencer.
Emily can't seem to recruit anyone to come to her mom's dinner party but finally persuades a drunk Hanna to attend, something she probably wishes she didn't do. Before heading into the Field's house, Alison stops Hanna at the door and tells her for the sake of the group she should stop seeing Caleb. This confrontation leads Hanna to seek solace in a bottle of vodka.
Hanna must not have heard the term "loose lips, sink ships," because after getting kicked out of the dinner party by Emily for being too drunk, she goes to the local coffee shop and starts chatting up Sydney, the new girl from the swim team, and tells her all about New York and even brings up Shana by accident at one point.
While we are on the topic of Sydney, we just need to say that this girl is sketchy with a capital S. She has been taking secret meetings with Mona and Jenna, and trying to find an in with Emily any way that she can. We also think that she might be the one behind the whole rat in the Paige's locker incident.
However, when Spencer talks to Melissa, who has just moved back into the barn on the Hastings property, Spence finds out that the barn has been infested with rats after seeing Melissa carrying a dead rat to the garbage. Who knows maybe Melissa could have planted the rodent in the locker?
While Aria is leaving Radley and trying to make it to Emily's dinner, she is stopped by Eddie, who was the one that dropped the original Bethany drawing off at Ezra's house. As Aria goes to leave we see Eddie call Ezra, not much is known from their conversation but towards the end of the episode we find out that Ezra was suppose to meet up with him but he never showed up.
While Aria and Spencer try to piece together the drawings that Bethany left, they come to the conclusion that Bethany saw Toby's mother, who was also a patient at Radley, fall from the roof of the asylum.
It is also thought that Mrs Di had been part of the cover-up at the institution, claiming that he death was suicide. After witnessing Toby's mother's death, Bethany supposedly left Radley to go and find Mrs. Di, but was killed by 'A' in the process.
One thing that does come out of the dinner part is that Emily's mom can tell that there are holes in Alison's kidnapping story. Mrs. Fields, who used to work at the police station, tells Emily that her friends down at the station have been talking and don't think that Ali's story is adding up. UH OH looks like you've got some explaining to do Alison.
After blabbing all her secrets to Sydney, Hanna sits down with Caleb at the coffee shop to figure out their relationship. She has just broken up with Travis because as she explains to Caleb, "there is no me and Travis, not when you're back here."
She proceeds to ask Caleb what he wants, which he replies by saying that his time away from Rosewood changed him and he doesn't see things the same. Yet, he does say that he sees Hanna exactly the same.
Haleb fans this is the moment that you've been waiting for, because as soon as he says that, Hanna grabs his face and they start kissing.
The episode concludes with Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna meeting at Spencer's house, after Spence finds Alison on a surveillance tape, sneaking around her yard at night. They girls get together to try to figure out what she is up to, but they are quickly interrupted by the familiar sound of a text message. 'A' has just texted them letting them know that Hanna has been talking about New York to her new friend Sydney.
Tune in next week for an all-new episode and recap of Pretty Little Liars.
