If you ask Whitney Houston's mother, Cissy Houston, 80, how she feels about Lifetime's upcoming biopic of her late daughter, she'd probably say that she is not happy, and upset.
According to ABC, the singer's mother spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday and requested that the network and anyone else listening to "please let her rest."
"Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family's objections," she told ET in a statement. "No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby."
She added, "In the two years since Whitney's death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn't know her. We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please, please let her rest."
MStars News previously reported that the new movie is set to feature America's Next Top Model contestant, and actress, Yaya DaCosta as Whitney Houston as actress Angela Bassett takes on director roles.
