Kiefer Sutherland made an impact as the super-agent Jack Bauer in the action packed Fox series, 24. At San Diego Comic-Con, fans wanted to know answers about the shocking conclusion of 24: Live Another Day.
During the exciting 12 episodes of Live Another Day, Bauer found himself called into action when hearing President Heller's life is in danger. Forced to go out of hiding, the wanted fugitive had to go public and reveal himself to the authorities.
[Spoilers] In the finale, Bauer saves the day but the Russians are still after him. The ex-CTU agent gives himself up and trades his life for the badly beaten and grief-stricken Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub). The last thing viewers see is Jack getting into a helicopter and flying over London soil. [End Spoilers]

At the Con panel, Sutherland and 24 executive producer Jon Cassar revealed to the audience this wasn't the original ending. There was another nail-biting conclusion that the Stand by Me actor had in mind.
As transcribed by Deadline during the discussion, The Lost Boys actor states, "We went through so many ideas for that ending. We talked about that maybe for the DVD, we'll have Jack take out a hand grenade and blow the Russian helicopter up" Sutherland continues, "We've never had that kind of freedom before. "
