This week we got our first look at Ridley Scott's highly anticipated video game digital series adaptation, Halo: Nightfall, in the form of the first trailer of the show. We already know that this series will serve as a bridge between the video games Halo 4 and the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, with series star Mike Colter portraying an important character for the new Xbox game - which has a 2015 release date.
In this new trailer, we are introduced to characters played by Colter, Christina Chong, Steve Waddington, Luke Neal, Christian Contreras, Jennie Gruner and more. We also get a good look at some footage, that definitely looks Scott-inspired.

Halo development director revealed during Comic-Con this week that Scott's series takes place on a "partially functioning fragment of the original Halo ring."
Here is the official synopsis for the new digital series:
Halo: Nightfall introduces a pivotal new character, Jameson Locke, a legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Earth's most powerful and secretive military branch. When he and his team are caught in a horrific biological attack, they unravel a plot that draws them to an ancient, hellish artifact, where they will be forced to fight for their survival, question everything, and ultimately choose between their loyalties and their lives. Taking place between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, Halo: Nightfall is Locke's origin story which will lend insight and understanding into the character he becomes in Halo 5: Guardians.
