Bryan Singer, the openly gay, critically acclaimed director of such blockbuster movies like X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Usual Suspects, has officially been dismissed from the court case brought against him by an anonymous British actor. The teen sex abuse allegations didn't have efficient enough evidence so the charges against Singer were dismissed. Gary Goddard was also charged with these allegations, but has not been dismissed.
"We are pleased the case was dismissed," Marty Singer, the attorney for the First Class director, said this week in regards to the news.
This is just one of several underage sex abuse cases against Singer, the allegations of which he has flat-out denied. This entire scandal has been going on since May of this year and this is the only real update to come out it since.
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Jeffrey Herman, the attorney for the plaintiff, did not respond to a request for comment on why the suit against the director was dropped. The case was one of several filed against Singer and others over allegations of underage sex abuse. Still pending is a suit filed in Hawaii against Singer and three others by Michael Egan III, who is also represented by Herman. The claims against the other three defendants were withdrawn after motions to dismiss by the defendants - Goddard, Garth Ancier and David Neuman - challenged whether they had been in Hawaii at the time Egan alleged.
