The Cleveland Browns are reportedly furious with NFL rookie Johnny Manziel, who according to sources, has been "non-stop" trouble. The franchise knew what they were drafting: a star that could change their faltering franchise, but one that could hurt their reputation away from football, too. The former Texas A&M QB could be a game-changer, as shown in a recently released video, in which he accurately throws a football through a car window. Sadly, he's seemingly up to no good when he gets the chance, yet some still wonder why he is not the No. 1 quarterback ahead of the respectable vteran Brian Hoyer, who lookd good before injuries curtailed his 2013 season, and who is tipped to be their started in the upcoming season. Could Manziel be even more trouble than problematic receiver Josh Gordon?
Football is around the corner, and all we should be hearing is how "ready" Manziel is, not how much he can irritate his fans and his team. Anonymous Browns sources have suggested the team is more than "alarmed" by his behaviour since being drafted into the NFL. He has been at parties, and offended many with inappropriate photographs. With training camp just beginning and the season coming soon, perhaps Manziel will focus on his football, realizing that his off-field antics just aren't worth the hassle he causes.
It's clear that Manziel has the talent to succeed, as does his fellow Browns player, Gordon, but the pair need to leave their bad-boy pasts behind and focus on turning their struggling franchise around. Gordon is facing a one-year suspension, while Manziel is struggling to prove his worth as a starting quarterback. Before long, the Browns may give up on the troubled duo.
If this pairing can sort their off-field drama out, they could be elite superstars in the NFL, and players that rewrite history for the Cleveland Browns. But Manziel's pass through the car window may be the only action he sees for a few months, at least until he learns to behave.
