Retired Shaquille O'Neal Dominated The NBA, But Now He Wants To Rap For Pharrell & NBA2K15 Video Game

Shaquille O'Neal dominated the NBA for many years, being miles above his rivals, in terms of both height and ability, but now the star-turned-presenter has decided to get back into the basketball game. He's not going to play the game again, but instead he wants to become a rapper, befriend hip hop star Pharrell and have his rap freestyle featured on upcoming video game NBA 2K15, which will be on most devices. Can Shaq take the rap game by storm, or is he no longer relevant?

Shaq has tried to rap before, releasing several albums in the 1990s to middling sales. Despite his charisma and star power, he never became anyone's idea of a very good emcee.  But now he wants to rap for the world's most popular NBA video game. Pharrell has control, and is producing the NBA2K15 sountrack, which usually features a host of talented rappers. However, it seems Shaq wants to join in on the act, and who can blame him?

Will this marketing scheme work, or will Pharrell, who's known for working with many of the greats of our generation, opt against it?  Could Shaq's placement on the soundtrack actually lead to fans buying NBA Live 15, instead? For many years Live was the best-selling basketball game, but after time off and out of the market, they're going to find it hard to take the No. 1 spot from 2K, but who knows, Shaq might just help them with that.
