Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has thrown Tony Romo's future into doubt, by revealing he was desperate to draft Johnny Manziel, from Texas A&M, however, they let him slip and the Cleveland Browns drafted him instead. Romo, can be the best QB in his day, but he can be the laughing stock more often than not, however, Jones and Dallas have seemed in love with Romo, but these reports suggest they've lost the faith in their veteran QB, and they may just finish with him for good in the near future.
Jones and the Cowboys were known admirers of Manziel, however they drafted Zack Martin from Notre Dame instead, with Manziel falling to the 22nd pick. Romo often lets his team down in the big games, and the general belief running through the league is, he's not good enough for the high standards the Cowboys set each season. However, Manziel is seen as more than good enough, but with the money invested in Romo, they felt they couldn't have the "who should start" drama.
Jones revealed "I want you to know that almost as I was handing in the card, it was that close to putting that Manziel card in. It was that close. I looked over to my son, Stephen, our chief executive officer, and I said 'I took the right pick.' ... He was the top player by three players on our board at the time that we were sitting there looking at him."
Jones and the Cowboys may just regret this choice for a long, long while. The question is, will they give up on Romo at the first available chance?
