Some fans cried foul when Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder cast Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The studio released the first official photo of Gadot in costume, which should put any doubts about her physical attributes for this part to rest.
The studio revealed the photo, which you can see at the top of the page, at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday morning. Gadot joined Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck on stage in the famous Hall H. The picture also shows off the costume, which fits in with the tone established in Man of Steel. The outfit features a deep red leather, more Amazonian in style, as opposed to the bright red, blue and gold featured in Wonder Woman's traditional incarnation.
The Wonder Woman photo reveal comes just days after fans posted images of Batman's full costume from Dawn of Justice on the Comic-Con show floor and DC Comics' release of another official image of Affleck as the Caped Crusader.
The first photo Snyder released a few months ago featured most of Affleck's body and part of the Batmobile under a tarp. This latest photo, on the other hand, is a close-up of Affleck's face that gives a look at some of the details in the cowl and the weary look Batman will have in the movie.
"The filmmakers wanted to include this new cinematic version of the Dark Knight in the anniversary mosaic so it could be discovered by fans!" DC Comics wrote in a blog post. "The cast and crew behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are excited to be a part of the 75th celebration!"
