This past weekend, One Direction super star and Perrie Edwards' fiancé, Zayn Malik, took to twitter to post a trending hastag that he decided to support. Considering he's Muslim, we figured it was only a matter of time before he weighed in on the current Palestine and Israel conflict that erupted this month, but when he tweeted "#FreePalestine," some people disagreed so strongly with his sentiment that they started sending him death threats.
Zayn's post was a very simple tweet, just the actual hastag and nothing more. You can check it out right here:

After this post, controversy around Twitter erupted, and death threats came pouring in. Zayn has yet to respond to these threats, but we doubt he really will. We're sure you can imagine the kind of tweets that have been aimed at Zayn, so we won't showcase these users. Instead, we'll show you a new hashtag that started trending: "#ZaynDontBeAfraid," which started as a response to the death threats. Check out some of these nicer tweets here:
