Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro isn't one to keep too many secrets about his movies, so it comes as no surprise that after announcing the sequel to Pacific Rim (with an April 7, 2017, release date) the director has been talking at length about the project. In a new interview to talk about his Comic-Con experience and Crimson Peak, del Toro spoke about Pacific Rim 2 plot details that his fans will surely enjoy!

"If you think are we invading their world, we're not, but we're showing more of that world," he told Hero Complex, referring to the Kaijus that came to Earth, forcing humans to create Jaegers.

"I want it to be different enough to the first one that you don't feel you're seeing the same movie. I'm doing a little more location-oriented stuff, there are night battles, but there are also daylight battles," he continued. "The things we do in the action scenes is very different from the first one. We are expanding the mythology of the Anteverse. We are taking the characters into a completely different journey this time because Raleigh for me solved his problem the minute he was able to go full circle and save Mako by sacrificing himself, which is what he couldn't do with his brother. He's not on that journey anymore, he's on a new journey."

Clearly we have a lot to look forward to with Pacific Rim 2. You can check out Guillermo del Toro's full interview right HERE where he also spoke about Crimson Peak and more!
