Andrew Lincoln Says Characters Will Die in The Walking Dead Season 5

Season 5 of The Walking Dead premieres this fall, which means fans are in store for more zombie kills and shocking moments. And of course, not everyone will make it out of the season alive.

Star Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, spoke to Entertainment Weekly Radio during Comic-Con and said the characters are at risk of death in the new season. "It is an inevitable part of this show. It's one of the great things, I think, that you have real jeopardy for favorite characters," he said. "It won't be without its share of death this season."

As for Rick himself, the character has traded in his farmer's clothes and shovel for his holster and gun. "Farmer Rick" is gone and the more ruthless Rick has returned. He displayed some of that brutality in the Season 4 finale when he bit out the throat of one of his attackers. But what can fans expect from Rick in Season 5?

"You find Rick in an incredibly dangerous and powerful place this season," Lincoln said. "He's not in any doubt about his brutality as well as his humanity, and I think he's made peace with that. But that does not negate him being a great father. I think that everything is about the children and his family. If you stand alongside him, you're his family. If you stand against him, then you're a problem."
