Everything better in two's right?

Sharknado 2: The Second One definitely didn't get hit with a case of the sophomore slumps, when it premiered the follow-up to the hit 2013 movie, last night.

The all-new original Syfy movie was watched by 3.9 million viewers during it's initial broadcast, which set a network record for the science-fiction station, according to The Hollywood Reporter, making it the most watched film ever on the station.

In the coveted 18-49 category, the original movie drew 1.6 million total viewers, with 1.8 viewers in the 25-54 age range tuning in. The ratings for the 18-49 were more than the whole audience of the first film, which premiered to 1.4 million viewers altogether.

Another amazing feat that the movie achieved was that it racked up 1 billion estiminated impression as far as Twitter conversations. Yup you read the right, billion with a "B."

That is more than both Kim and Kanye got for their wedding over the summer, and that Miley had when she performed at the VMA's last year, according to E! News. The movie scored all 10 of the top 10 US trending topics on the social media site last night as well. Not a bad feat for the follow up.

For all of those that missed out on the epic film, the network will be playing repeats this weekend at 7 pm on Saturday, August 2, and at 9 pm on Sunday August 3.

After the success of this film, we need to prepare ourselves and take cover because it looks like there are going to be more Sharknados on the forecast.
