Shaquille O'Neal , Waka Flocka Flame and Trey Burke are in a spot of bother. In April Jahmel Binion, who suffers from hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, was teased via the trio's Twitter accounts, with millions of followers seeing the abuse, making the situation a whole lot worse. Jahmel had posted a selfie, and the celebrities reposted it with insults posted alongside it, clearly abusing him. Will the NBA & rap stars avoid the impending lawsuit?
The condition causes one to have limited hair growth, lose teeth and further facial deformities, yet, the stars felt the need to mock it in front of millions of fans. Shaw had got in touch and apologized, then saying "Made a new friend today when I called and apologized to Jahmel Binion. Great dude. #alwayslearning #MYBADCUZ." However, it seems that wasn't good enough.
Jahmel has now started a lawsuit against the duo, and the Utah Jazz's Burke, using the amount of followers as a huge reason for the upset. Jahmel explained his pain, saying "When they said sorry, I felt like they were saying it to get the pressure off of them for being considered 'bad people." Should the stars face a huge punishment, or will it be a mere slap on the wrist?
Everyday the world are learning more and more about the power of social media, and it seems O'Neal, Waka and Burke might just have to learn the hard way. Burke, being young, possibly has the best defense, but the other two have been around the block, and no excuse can be made for their actions.
