Marvel Comics' 'S.H.I.E.L.D. #1' - Mark Waid, Carlos Pacheco, Alan Davis, & More Take On 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!'

Inspired by the hit ABC TV show, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., an all-new comic book series  continues the adventures of  secret agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his spy team. Marvel Comics brings in writer Mark Waid (Daredevil) and a list of top artists - artists Carlos Pacheco (Uncanny X-Men), Alan Davis (Avengers), Chris Spouse (Supreme), and more - for S.H.I.E.L.D. #1. 

Following the continuity of the series, Coulson and his the peace-keeping force try to keep everyone safe from world-threatening dangers. The best and brightest, including Melinda May, Leo Fitz, and Jemma Simmons, have been put together to serve this elite team. Read as they take on action-packed missions that they throw them into the mix of the Marvel Universe.

In an interview with Marvel, the Daredevil scribe teases who will be showing up in the following  issues, "S.H.I.E.L.D. has the best toys and the best allies - anyone and everyone in the Marvel Universe is a potential guest-star in this book, from Dr. Strange to the Thing to Spider-Man to Cloak and Dagger to Groot."

The big question we want to know is, will Ward (played by Brett Dalton) will appear in the comics? As reported here, we know the Hydra mole is holed up in custody and will play the role of a villain in the upcoming second season.

We also teased that Coulson might not be all right in the head after being brought back from the dead. How much of the this season's subplots will make their way into the comic book? We will have to wait and see.
